FOCUS 2015

What is FOCUS?

The quick answer is that FOCUS on the Arts is a 3-day and 3-night festival celebrating the arts held every 2 years at Highland Park High School.

But Focus is a lot of different things to a lot of people.

Let's consider a few:

If you're a student at Highland Park High School, FOCUS is a rare opportunity to see performers and take workshops with professionals in all aspects of the arts. Take an acting class with the casting director of a renowned theatre company, listen to a local television sportscaster talk about his career, or dance with members of a world class dance company. There are writing workshops, music demonstrations, arts classes in every imaginable medium and experts in architecture, film and a myriad of arts careers.

If you're a parent of a student at Highland Park High School, FOCUS can be a once in a lifetime opportunity for your child to discover a new interest or to further develop a current passion for the arts. And you are welcome to partake as well. Drop in on any performance or workshop. Attend the special nightly performances and displays of Music, Dance and Art. There are many opportunities to volunteer, as well. Share the Focus experience with your student.

If you're an artist, FOCUS can be an opportunity to expand your audience and inspire the next crop of artists. For alumni artists, it's a unique chance to return home and share your gifts and success.

If you're a member of the community, FOCUS is a world class festival of arts happening right in your neighborhood. Check out the schedule so you won't miss your favorite performance or just drop by for a few hours and sample the incredible talent that can be found behind every classroom door. And we are grateful to our community volunteers for their time, talent and donations.
